Value of Team Work The cornerstone of fire service environment is usually teamwork which is evident in each and every aspect of the fire service profession from training exercises to the most involved incidences in the course of heir operations. The fire service tradition is normally rich in tradition which is the way through which the fire service teams evolve around. The method of organization and functioning in fire service environment has various divisions whereby the firefighters are divided into various companies; ladder, engine, rescue, haz mat and so on which work in rotating shifts. The engine company is usually the basic unit for the fire service whose main duty is putting out the fire. The first engine is supposed to get a hose line in place and ensure that they put water on the fire immediately. Ventilation is among the most important tasks that has to be accomplished by the crew since it allows the firefighters to impact a building that is on fire in a positive way. Teamwork is therefore quite beneficial and plays a major part of any of the fire service groundwork operations due to various reasons. This is because each of the tasks during a fire ground operation is dependent on someone else completion of another task or tasks that are all related.
